Safe way back when users lose access to their Entra account

When a user loses access to their account, it often causes both stress for the user and additional support workload. With the new feature in Fortified ID Control, organizations can offer a more secure and transparent path back through a guided self-service flow for temporary access to Microsoft Entra.
Challenge
It is a common scenario for users to suddenly lose access to their account. For example, this could be because the user:
has forgotten their password
has changed phones
has lost their MFA method
otherwise lacks the authentication method required to log in
Manually handling recovery in these situations often slows the process down more than necessary. At the same time, it increases the risk of unclear workflows, more support cases, and less control over how temporary access is actually granted.
Solution
With Fortified ID Control, the organization can create a controlled self-service flow where the user, after the right verification, can receive a temporary access code to their Microsoft Entra account.
The user gets an easier way back without being completely dependent on manual assistance from support or IT.
Support is relieved because fewer cases need to be handled from start to finish manually.
The organization gets better control over how temporary access is created and in which situations it should be allowed.
The recovery process becomes clearer, more consistent and easier to follow up.
Security can be strengthened by building the self-service flow with the right controls instead of ad hoc handling in a pressured situation.
The result is faster help for the user, less strain on support and a more controlled recovery process when access is lost.
